Funky Office Design: Google Amsterdam Offices

We’re massive fans of creative, funky office designs here at Rainbow Zebra – so much so when we spotted this Google office last week we thought it was most definitely worth bringing to your attention!

With a vintage caravan for meetings and graffitied walls, Google’s newly renovated Amsterdam office stands out from many other corporate offices you might have been in.

A meeting room for Googlers

For inspiration the designers – D/DOCK - cleverly started with the garage that Google’s founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin started the company from. With an extensive refurbishment the offices include retro furniture, Dutch “waffle” ceiling tiles and large bean bag cushions to ease any workplace stress.

According to D/DOCK's partner Coen van Dijck, the South Amsterdam based office is a “feel good” office, he said:

'It is a place that makes the employee perform better by offering a work environment that meets their needs.

Happiness, comfort, flexibility, relaxation, well balanced nutrition, exercise, daylight, fresh air and visual stimulation are some of the fundamentals that makes this office a healthy one.'

Google Canteen promotes healthy eating

It is well known that Google actively promotes a healthy lifestyle for all its employees –aka “Googlers” and this office is certainly no exception with a gym, meditation room and 180° views from every desk. The office also includes a restaurant serving up healthy foods and drinks on a regular basis.

We can only hope the grill next to the caravan is not a working one and is there just for effect! ;)
PS Check out the interior of the caravan via Google 360 – go find the stuffed parrot!
