New Year, New Mindset?

So, we're a few weeks into 2013 and we've got past so called 'Blue Monday' intact but what does this year have in store and will it be better than 2012?

In short, the answer is - only you can decide. Only you can decide on whether 2013 turns out to be an improvement on previous years and if previous years haven't lived up to expectations then maybe it's time to change your mind set. AsEinstein himself said the definition of insanity is 'doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result'!

Firstly, you need to set goals and then decide on what goals should take priority. Are they personal type goals, for example losing weight or moving from rented housing to being a home owner? Or are they work related goals concerning getting a promotion or better managing your time, or even having a clear desk policy!

Once you've decided your goals (and they must be realistically achievable) then you need to decide why you are doing it and prioritise accordingly. For example, a clear desk policy can be put in place and adhered to relatively quickly and easily, buying a house or losing weight will take a bit more time and effort!

As long as you understand the goals you have set, the reasons you've set them and that they will take dedication to achieve then you should be well on your way to making 2013 a good year and one that lays the foundations for years to come.
